OVERCOMING SEXUAL ABUSE : EMBRACING A NEW LIFE! (wonderful, resourceful site!) CLICK HERE
"Looking
back I walked into that relationship with blinders on. I so desperately
wanted to be loved, that I was willing to deny the warning signs along
the way in exchange for some cheap replacement for love. I thought I
took the right precautions. I told my boyfriend about my abuse at an
appropriate time, but my failure to recognize key warning signs in a
relationship led me right back into abuse." - Bethany RuckDating after Sexual Abuse Is this Love? http://overcomingsexualabuse.com/2010/11/10/dating-after-sexual-abuse-is-this-love/ *** Just one of many articles / information to enjoy! Check them out.

CIRCLE OF TRUST CAMPAIGN - In many states, laws reward criminals who sexually abuse their own children. PROTECT Circle of Trust campaign is putting an end to these outrageous practices. The vast majority of child sexual abuse victims are hurt by adults in their own family or daily circle of trust. Yet, in state after state, laws treat incest as less serious than other child sexual abuse. PROTECT's campaigns to reform these laws have won in North Carolina, Arkansas, Illinois, California, Virginia and New York. Stay tuned for upcoming news on our 2010 campaign in Minnesota.

Overview: "I don’t have any control over what happened to me in the past. I was a victim for long enough. I’m taking control of my future and I refuse to be defined by the past I did not choose. I’m choosing a new path and while that path is filled with obstacles and residue, I’m finding that they are no match for the person I’ve become. The very thing that tried to kill and silence me made me see that I can endure and thrive in spite of them. I’ve survived the worst. The journey has just started, but I’m determined to follow the healing path to the end." Mission:RECOVERY and restoration for sexual abuse survivors, EDUCATION for friends and family of sexual abuse survivors, REFORMATION of families, churches and courts to more effectively protect from sexual abuse Welcome to Overcoming Sexual Abuse. We post new information on a daily basis. We’d love for you to participate in the discussion topics, post on the wall or comment. If you’d feel more comfortable contacting us directly, message us on our Facebook pages or e-mail us: Bethany@overcomingsexualabuse.com or Christina@overcomingsexualabuse.com Sexual abuse is when someone with less power is tricked, trapped, coerced, or bribed into any type of sexual experience. Power imbalance may result from the perpetrator’s age, size, position, experience, or authority and includes kissing, fondling, being forced to touch the abuser’s genitals, anal, oral or vaginal sex, and non-contact acts such as exhibitionism, exposure to pornography, voyeurism or sexual comments.

My Body Belongs to Me - PreSchool-Grade 2—Presented in story format and narrated by a young child in rhyming couplets, this short book encourages children who have been sexually abused to talk to someone they trust. Written by a prosecutor of sex offenders, it is intended to begin a discussion on a topic that may be uncomfortable for parents but is vital for children since many of them do not know whether or how to tell someone when they are touched inappropriately. Youngsters are reassured that they are not to blame when this happens. Average-quality watercolor and colored-pencil illustrations on solid white backgrounds face a page of large-print text. "Suggestions for the Storyteller" gives advice to parents on how to broach this subject, while two pages of "Where to Find Help" give related phone numbers and Web addresses. In only 19 sentences, this simple book will empower children while promoting open communication.—Maryann H. Owen, Racine Public Library, WI END

Networking - Support - Care - UnderstandingProtecting
children is as natural an instinct as breathing for most of us.
However, there are those certain elements in every community today that
have a more deviant and diabolical instinct. One that has grown
and becomes more prevalent in today’s world than ever. It is for us to
mark a line in the sand, that we are not just standing our ground
anymore, we are advancing into neighborhoods and communities on a local
and federal level as never before.
To protect our children, we are now making the necessary lines in the
sand and moves towards the needed changes. You are invited to join our
effort. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE TOGETHER.
